PRENATAL SERVICES

Prenatal care that is wholistic and individualized to you as a person

Prenatal care is the foundation of a healthy pregnancy. Lunar Midwifery is proud to offer prenatal care for the duration of your pregnancy at an office located in central San Antonio. During each visit, which will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour, your midwife will assess your physical, emotional, nutritional, and mental well-being, as well as assess the health of your growing baby. These visits will also help to build a foundation of trust that is necessary between midwife and client during the birthing process.

Appointments will follow the recommended obstetrics schedule: every four weeks until 28 weeks, every two weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly until you have your baby. At 36 weeks, the midwife will visit your home for a visit to see your birthing space and provide you with a birthing pool. Each visit will include physical assessment including- blood pressure, pulse, weight monitoring, diet discussion, urinalysis, the position of the baby, fetal activity, and monitoring of the baby’s heart rate. We will also discuss client education needs and any questions you have that have come up since your last visit.
