HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
A initial deposit is required during your first prenatal visit, with the remaining fees divided into equal monthly payments, payable by 36 weeks of pregnancy. Currently, Lunar Midwifery does not accept insurance; however, at the conclusion of care, you will receive an itemized financial contract and receipt which can be submitted to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
*At Lunar Midwifery we believe care should be accessible for everyone. Applications for financial hardship are available*
WHAT ABOUT PAIN MEDICATION DURING BIRTH?
While there are no traditional pain medications offered, such as an epidural, midwives are trained in alternative pain relief methods such as massage, positional changes, and most importantly, utilizing water. Many birthing families choose to labor and even birth their babies in the water.
WHAT HAPPENS IN AN EMERGENCY?
While the majority of our families are able to give birth to their babies at home without complications due to their low-risk status, in the case of an emergency the midwives are prepared for any situation that arises. Along with carrying medications to control bleeding, midwives are trained in CPR and Neonatal resuscitation.
In the even rarer event of needing to transport to a local hospital, midwives will be by your side every step of the way.
