Prenatal care varies among providers. Some prioritize answering questions, while others focus on managing physical symptoms. At Lunar Midwifery, my approach involves allowing you to actively participate in shaping your care while ensuring all essential aspects for you and your baby are addressed.
During each visit, the following will occur:
Your blood pressure, pulse, and weight will be recorded.
Your midwife will measure your belly, known as a fundal height measurement, and inform you of your baby's position.
We will use a doppler (or fetoscope!) to listen to your baby's heart rate.
Other routine visit components may include collecting blood and urine samples, addressing questions, planning for your birth, and resolving any issues you may encounter. Visits typically last 45 minutes to an hour to accomplish these objectives.
